Primary Purpose:
The Kitchen Manager leads the CNP team at the campus level. The kitchen manager ensures that appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served. The Kitchen Manager maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including public health and safety.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day operations within the kitchen, adhering to Child Nutrition program (CNP)
guidelines which includes:
Qualifications:
Education, Experience, and/or Certification(s)
Experience Requirements: 2 + years’ experience in school food service or any food service including cooking, production, inventory, with 1+ in supervisory role.
Special Skills/Certifications: Must Possess current SERV safe Kitchen Manager’s Certification before employment (or the ability to obtain within the first 30 days of hire), Ability to understand food preparation and safety instructions. Knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures. Capable of operating small and large kitchen equipment and tools. A valid driver’s license.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, students, and parents. Ability to motivate, delegate, and lead a team to accomplish goals.
Bilingual Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and apply understand and to carry out instructions in written or oral English
Technology: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) and use software as necessary (POS, clock in and out etc.). Ability to use basic office equipment. Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and basic finance understanding

Starting Pay: $43,888
Work Environment: The work environment is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The environment requires proximity to other employees, frequent interruptions, extended periods of time viewing a computer screen and standing, and noise levels from moderate to high. There may be activity from other employees and students of a distracting nature.
